Dr. Emily Tolkamp

Emily is originally from Platte, SD. She attended the University of Sioux Falls where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and was also an all-conference volleyball player for the Cougars. She then went on to the University of South Dakota and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. 

She was always interested in the human body and knew she wanted to work in healthcare, but chose to be a Physical Therapist to help people with movement while trying to avoid medications, injections, and surgery when possible. She enjoys that she gets to spend time with her patients frequently to build a relationship with them.

Prior to working at Impact, Emily worked as a traveling Physical Therapist for 2 years gaining experience in a variety of different clinical settings, including outpatient orthopedics, in different regions around the country. She is currently furthering her education by getting a manual therapy certification to advance her orthopedic skills.

Emily and her husband, Michael, enjoy being active, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
